Position Summary

McCormick Taylor has an immediate opening for an Environmental Scientist II to join our NJ Environmental Services group in Mount Laurel NJ. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative team environment. We are seeking an individual who can handle multiple projects, meet deadlines and work well in hybrid remote and office environment. Strong written, interpersonal and oral communication skills, attention to detail and ability to organize is required. This position will include both field and office assignments.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review various NEPA documents (e.g. Categorical Exclusions, Environmental Impact Statements, and supporting technical studies) for multi-disciplinary projects, specifically in NJ.
• Prepare and review environmental permits and agency permit applications including, but not limited to, wetland/waterway permitting and the Endangered Species Act (federal and state).
• Perform field wetland and State open water delineations, and assist in wildlife habitat assessments.
• Utilize GPS, ArcGIS, and Microsoft office for project data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Desire and ability to conduct field work.
• Demonstrate environmental writing and communication skills.
• Ability to lead teams and manage staff work on projects.
• Candidate must be team oriented but also work independently.

Qualifications 

• BS/MS degree in Natural or Environmental Sciences/engineering or related field
• Entry level to 6 years of technical experience in the NEPA compliance and environmental field and other natural resource surveys, environmental data collection, compliance monitoring, environmental permitting, and NEPA documentation.
• Familiarity and experience with NEPA compliance a plus.
• Permitting experience in NJ, PA and DE preferred.
• Wetland Delineation experience a plus
